Walks Programme

                                                                                   About Walking

D;   Generally very easy with very few hills, if any.

C:   Walked at a gentle pace which most people can manage, over moorland and sometimes hills never above 600 m/2000ft.

B:   Moderate, for the reasonably fit, usually visiting mountain tops.

A:  Strenuous, mostly mountains, perhaps including scrambling; if easier terrain, it  will be long.

Good footwear is important, Boots will keep your feet dry in wet muddy conditions and give a good grip in bad weather. A good waterproof

jacket is essential as well as a hat and gloves in winter.

Any trouser can be worn, except jeans, these will soak up water like a sponge and your walk will be uncomfortable.

A small rucksack to hold the gear you are not wearing and to hold your sandwiches and perhaps a flask for a hot drink, there is usually a

coffee break after about an hour into the walk and a lunch stop, usually with gorgeous scenery.

Anyone can walk with us, new members are very welcome to join, the walk is free, though after two or three walks we would ask you to

join the Ramblers Association. This can be done online by clicking on the link to Ramblers Association, join on Contact us page.

As most of our walks are through sheep country

Dogs are not allowed on any of our walks.

We now have a North Wales bulletin board where cancellations can be posted, it is on the North Wales Ramblers website  http://www.ramblersnorthwales.org.uk

Click on the Bulletin Board link at the foot of the first page.

LEADERS If any of you have similar problems with a walk due to the weather, just email Gerald Moss [email protected] and he will try and get the notice on the Bulletin Board ASAP.
